It’s like their belief in “generations” is at a cost to the consumer regardless of what they buy from their store. I have to wonder if the people running the show have never felt scammed by purchasing multiple retro products from their own company. Lock it all down to another subscription model. It’s like they’re trying to be the Nintendo of their classic library. That’s just giving them money to play games I’ve purchased from them digitally already. I also have Plus, so seeing a lot of this with $9.99 or “Upgrade” is a big turn off. I have most of the PS1 Classics on PS3/Vita purchased. I played Resident Evil digitally on PS3, so not owning this isn’t a big deal. I don’t need to play a lot of these because I have owned a lot of these digitally already. I only own it because it was free on PS+ and I wanted to see what the fuss was all about.Click to expand.Yeah that’s what has me turned off to this. It's not for you and you're going to be disappointed. If you're like me and you don't think "messing around hoping that stuff happens" is very compelling, avoid this game. I prefer my games to have an actual plot and characters I care about. It controls fine and everything is responsive, but the whole thing is just so boring I gave up after 20 minutes or so. The controls are as primitive as the rest of the game: one button makes you go faster and one button makes you go slower. The music is alright, but again I didn't like it much.
The art style is colorful but very simplistic, and I admit I'm not a big fan of it. It wasn't fun to aimlessly roam around hoping that one of the plants I bump into might do something. Which would be fine if the game wasn't so boring.
You're supposed to run into objects, observe what happens, and figure it out on your own. In each level you're required to do something different (give a bunch of people a ride, make flowers bloom.), but the game never tells you what it is.
